Phurba Sherpa is a world record–holding Director, Showrunner, and International Field Producer with over 17 years of experience across broadcast television, film, documentaries, live events, and digital media. With over 1,750 hours of broadcast and screen content — directed and produced across music videos, television commercials, documentaries, reality shows, talk shows, and long-format broadcast programs — he has built a career that is both wide in range and deep in craft. Widely credited with helping shape modern Nepali television, Phurba played a pioneering role in launching the country's first private-channel reality shows, including Little Champs. He also created Cyber Sansaar — Nepal's first technology and gadgets television program — and has produced landmark titles including War of DJ, The Flop Show, Idea Studio Nepal (Season 5), and Band Champion Nepal. His work reaches local, regional, and international audiences, blending visual storytelling with rigorous production discipline across entertainment, factual, branded, and broadcast formats. As an International Field Producer, Phurba has worked on complex productions involving live broadcasts, international newsgathering, and crisis coverage. During the 2015 Nepal earthquake, he collaborated with CNN to support field production, live coverage, logistics, and story development under extreme conditions — bringing global audiences closer to one of the region's most defining disasters. He continues to contribute visual content and stories from Nepal to international outlets, reinforcing his expertise in factual storytelling from some of the world's most demanding environments. One of his most notable achievements is serving as Producer and Director of Tamasoma Jyotirgamaya — the world's highest-altitude television talk show, filmed at 5,550 metres at Everest Base Camp and officially recognised by the World Book of Records, London. A diploma graduate in Digital Filmmaking from SAE Institute, Phurba brings hands-on expertise in creative direction, editorial coordination, production leadership, crew management, budgeting, and scheduling. He is equally at home directing multi-camera live broadcasts in remote high-altitude terrain as he is overseeing post-production in a studio environment. Since 2024, Phurba has been based in the United Arab Emirates, expanding his creative footprint across the Middle East while continuing to collaborate on international productions. He brings with him a career built on storytelling integrity, global production experience, and an unwavering belief that every story deserves a powerful voice — and every frame, a deeper meaning.
